3/24/2023 0 Comments Edrawings viewer.![]() In the past couple of days Dassault Systemes SOLIDWORKS has released it’s latest version of the My.SolidWorks Portal. The site has quite a different look and feel to it. There are New Training Courses which include preparation courses for SOLIDWORKS Certification.! A new My VAR section and a “coming soon” MySolidWorks Manufacturing Network. It is now starting to align itself more with your SolidWorks Subscription and is now to be broken into “packages” of MySolidWorks, MySolidWorks Standard, MySolidWorks Professional. It is also compatible with AutoCAD, and SolidWorks Parts. In the System Options - EDRW/EPRT/EASM dialog box, specify the options described below, then click OK. eDrawings Viewer allows for the viewing, printing and reviewing of all types of eDrawings files. Greater details of the announcement and the site can be found on the SolidWorks Blogįor me the most interesting part of the new version is My SolidWorks Drive. In the Save Configurations to eDrawings file dialog box (or Save Sheets to eDrawings file dialog box), click Options. My.SolidWorks Drive is the ability to connect and view your Solidworks and eDrawings files via Dropbox and/or Google Drive Accounts to a integrated eDrawings Viewer. It was at this years SolidWorks World 2014 that we saw hints of a online eDrawing Viewer and it appears that it may have morphed into this feature. You can easily view models and access configurations, drawing sheets, and exploded views for eDrawings. When you go to the My.SolidWorks Portal there is the new Drive Section. eDrawings Pro is the professional 2D and 3D CAD collaboration app for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch that can view native SolidWorks files (part, assembly, drawings), eDrawings files and DraftSight (DWG, DXF) files. When the Drive Folder is first selected it brings up the options to connect and then authorise the connection to your Dropbox and Google Drive accounts. Once authorised (and in future Log In) your Dropbox folder are displayed. Which importantly includes your “shared” Folder. In addition, eDrawings Viewer allows convenient viewing of supported AutoCAD DWG and DXF files and native SolidWorks. ![]() There is the familiar options of Display Styles along this View Orientation Selecting any SolidWorks or eDrawings open the integrated eDrawings Viewer directly in the browser.Īt this stage it is just a Viewer with the ability to rotate, pan and zoom. There is the same functionality of animation as with all version of eDrawings. The distance that the components project is directly controlled by the movement of the slide The Explode function has quite an interesting interface. Here is the kicker! The files can also be downloaded direct from the viewer or the Drive Home page. ![]() Which makes it a very simple way of viewing and share files across a range of people, computer and devices. The My.SolidWorks site is set up for devices and touch. So, my task is to somehow create a button or checkbox or something that can select the Pan option when the button/checkbox is clicked/checked, so the user can have Pan set as the default when switching between drawings without having to manually select the Pan option every single time.I could access the site via Firefox on Android (Nexus7) and have the same functionality as in any browser. And they don't like it at all (the default goes back to Select when the new drawings are opened). Some users don't have a scroll wheel on their mouse, so they have to right click -> View -> Pan for every single drawing, each time they open it. Here is the dilemma: There is a built in Pan option in the eDrawings ActiveX Control (which I'm using in my WinForm), but, you have to press down the scroll button on your mouse to pan, or you have to right click on the drawing, select View and then Pan. There is an interface for this, with public methods and properties and enums. I have a WinForm application that opens AutoCAD drawings in the eDrawings Control. The eDrawings for free is a powerful and versatile tool that is ideal for those who work with 3D drawings or models on a regular basis. ![]()
